The Resistance Museum in Turin sheds a permanent light on the horrors of the Second World War, recalling its history, its protagonists, its
main and more important events painful, the parable of the Resistance on
National territory.
The museum is was inaugurated on 30 May 2003.
Collection exhibited at the Diffused Museum of the Resistance
The itinerary offered by the museum is made up of images, sounds and voices of witnesses presented in an original interactive installation which thus narrates daily life during the war, the German occupation, the Resistance and the return of democracy.
The itinerary is divided into five sections: Living everyday life, Living under the bombs, Living under the regime, Living under the occupation, Living Free.
Each section offers two interviews with witnesses to the conflict accompanied by images of films and documentaries vintage.
Among the exhibits on display are a pedal machine for the clandestine printing of propaganda leaflets and a chair for capital executions at the Polygon shooting range. Martinetto.
There is also an air raid shelter 12 meters deep; which offered shelter to the employees of the newspaper "La Gazzetta del Popolo" and to the inhabitants of the neighborhood.
The itinerary then tells of the Resistance and the reconquest of the rights enshrined in the birth of the Italian Constitution of 1948. In four screens that are activated by sitting down front the visitor listens to the narration on the chosen themes: Yes to Freedom, Yes to Democracy, Yes to Equality, No to violence.
The setup is was curated by the Piedmontese Institute for the History of the Resistance and designed by N!03.
